Mixed reality and room awareness
Quest 3 combines color stereoscopic passthrough with a depth sensor. The sensor helps the headset understand room geometry, but the quality of the experience still depends on lighting, the app, and a correctly defined play area. Passthrough is useful for seeing your environment and placing digital content; it should not be described as equivalent to natural vision.
