AMVR Quest 3 Golf Club Attachments: Model and Fit Guide

A source-checked guide to AMVR's Q3GP1 and Q3GP3 golf attachments for Quest 3 and 3S, with fit limits and unresolved retailer SKU mapping.

AMVR currently documents two golf-club attachments for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S: the fixed-length Q3GP1 and extendable Q3GP3. Both hold the right Touch Plus controller with a replacement battery cover and a second retention point. The product family is verified, but the two preserved Amazon ASINs could not be mapped confidently to those AMVR SKUs, so the retailer links remain manual-review items.

Q3GP1 and Q3GP3 compared

Detail Q3GP1 Q3GP3
AMVR description Standard golf attachment Extendable golf attachment
Documented headset family Quest 3 / Quest 3S Quest 3 / Quest 3S
Documented weight 257 g 291 g
Documented reach Extends 15.75 in beyond the controller Adjustable from 17.7 to 25.6 in
Controller used Right Touch Plus controller Right Touch Plus controller
Retention Replacement battery cover plus wrist-strap/knob lock Replacement battery cover plus wrist-strap/knob lock

Those are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from Ready Player Won. Longer reach also needs more clear space around the player.

Controller orientation and handedness

AMVR’s setup uses the right controller, including for left-handed players. Its guidance says left-handed users should select the left-hand option inside the supported golf game rather than mount the left controller. Follow the game’s calibration instructions after attaching the controller.

The included replacement battery cover is part of the locking system. AMVR says its golf cover is not compatible with rechargeable controller batteries used by the AMVR charging dock, and ordinary controller-grip covers need to be removed. Verify any other battery cover, knuckle strap, or controller shell separately.

Game compatibility is not universal

AMVR documents an accessory preset for GOLF+ and publishes a setup video for Walkabout Mini Golf. That establishes documented setup paths, not universal compatibility with every VR golf title. A game still needs suitable controller calibration, handedness settings, and tracking behavior.

No authoritative evidence was found for the old article’s claims about improved tracking, more consistent swings, or realistic feel. Those outcomes depend on the game, setup, playspace, and player.

Who should consider one?

Potential fit

  • Quest 3 or Quest 3S owners who want a longer two-handed grip
  • GOLF+ players willing to use the documented accessory preset
  • Players with enough clear space for the chosen shaft length

Who should skip it

  • Quest 2, Quest Pro, or non-Quest users
  • Anyone unwilling to remove an incompatible grip or battery cover
  • Small play areas where a long attachment increases collision risk

Preserved retailer destinations need model confirmation

The legacy article used two Amazon destinations. Neither ASIN appears in AMVR’s current first-party model table, so the links below are retained without claiming which one is Q3GP1 or Q3GP3.

Setup and safety checklist

  1. Set and maintain a clear boundary with extra room for the attachment.
  2. Remove controller grips or battery covers that interfere with the AMVR lock.
  3. Secure the replacement cover and secondary strap/knob exactly as documented.
  4. Select the correct in-game accessory and handedness options.
  5. Recalibrate when switching games or changing shaft length.
  6. Stop if the controller moves inside the mount or the attachment is damaged.

New Quest owners should also use the VR headset setup guide. For ordinary play, compare the Quest 3 controller-grip guide instead of treating a golf shaft as a general-purpose controller accessory.

Bottom line

AMVR’s current Q3GP1 and Q3GP3 designs are documented for Quest 3 and Quest 3S, with meaningful differences in reach and weight. The preserved retailer ASINs still need an exact SKU match. Buy only after confirming which model, cover, and shaft configuration the listing actually includes.
